Welcome to 7th Grade World Geography
Students will be working on map skills, studying the development of civilization in the Eastern Hemisphere, and then the expansion of civilization out of those early civilizations.
Map Skills will be centered around the following basic skills: finding cardinal and intermediate directions, interpreting a key, measuring of distances, and latitude/longitude.
The development of civilizations in the Eastern Hemisphere will center around the study of Ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, India, and China. The students will then be learning about the Israelites, Phoenicians, Lydians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans as civilization began to spread out from these early civilizations.
